Arsenal join race for Benfica star


Arsenal have reportedly joined the race to land the services of Benfica striker Rodrigo on loan during the winter transfer window.

The talented striker, who has also attracted interest from the likes of Valencia and Zenit St.Petersburg is believed to be keen on moving to a fresh challenge this month.

According to O Jogo, The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is understood to be keen on easing the burden on French international Olivier Giroud, with back-up striker Nicklas Bendtner sidelined due to injury.

The report also claims that Wenger would like to sign the Spaniard on a temporary basis until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent next summer.

Rodrigo has scored 34 goals in 94 appearances for Benfica so far.
