Lazio eye move for former Blues striker

Serie A club Lazio interested in landing the signature of Nicolas Anelka from West Bromwich Albion on a six-month deal during the winter transfer window.
Anelka's future with the Baggies had come under scrutiny in recent weeks following his controversial 'quenelle' gesture during his goal celebration in the club's 3-3 draw against West Ham United last month.
The former Chelsea man is understood to have appealed against the charge of misconduct filed against him by the Football Association, but Sky Sport Italia report that the Baggies could allow the sale of the talented striker, as they face the prospect of losing out on their main sponsors due to the controversy.
Lazio are open to a six-month deal for Anelka, who is keen on signing an 18-month contract at the least.
Anelka joined the West Midlands outfit on a free transfer in the summer.
