Fulham target Valencia playmaker

Premier League strugglers Fulham are keen on signing Valencia playmaker Sergio Canales on loan till the end of the season. The 22 year joined Valencia from Real Madrid permanently in 2012 having spent a season at Los Che on loan.

The West London club are just a point and one place above the bottom three and want to add some skill and dynamism to their aging midfield.



The Cottagers manager Rene Meulensteen is confident that he can get the best out of a player who has struggled with injuries this season and has only made seven league starts this season.



Valencia are languishing in the La Liga table and are willing to part company with the former Racing Santander midfielder as a they strive to ease clubs debt by putting him in the shop window.



Fellow Premier League side Everton were also linked with Canales earlier in January.
