Stoke City earn historic win over Man Utd

Manchester United's season has hit yet another low, as they were humbled by Premier League strugglers Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.

The Potters sealed a hard fought 2-1 win over the Red Devils, which broke the history books as it was their first taste of success against the Manchester giants in thirty years.

Stoke started the scoring in the 38th minute as Charlie Adam's free kick deflected off Michael Carrick for a goal, with David De Gea helplessly wrong-footed.

The Red Devils got on track as an assist from club-record signing Juan Mata was helped through by Robin Van Persie at the start of the second half.

However, there was more to come from Charlie Adams, who was known for his brilliant shooting technique since his time with Blackpool, as he fired home the winner from outside the box in the 52nd minute.

Stoke City climb to 12th place with the victory whilst United remain in 7th place, six points adrift off fourth-placed Liverpool, who play at West Brom later today.
