Newcastle manager issues Papiss Cisse ultimatum

Papiss Cisse news

Papiss Cisse's future in the balance

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has insisted that Senegalese international Papiss Cisse must improve on his performances for the remaining part of the campaign, else risk being sold in the summer.

The 28-year-old had a fascinating start to his career with the Magpies during the second half of the 2011/2012 season, but failed to replicate the same form from the season there on, and Pardew has now notified that the Senegalese striker must have a strong second half in order to keep his place with the Tyneside club beyond the summer.

"He needs to have a big second half of the season for the summer," Pardew said. "We are going to have to make a decision with Papiss: whether he is going to stay at this club and be a big player for us like he was two years ago and last year to a degree, or whether it's going to be pastures new."

Papiss Cisse has scored 3 goals in 18 games for the club this season.
