Gabriel Obertan on QPR radar

Championship club Queens Park Rangers are hopeful of signing Gabriel Obertan from Newcastled United during the summer transfer window.

The former Manchester United has struggled to keep his place in the Magpies' first team since the start of the campaign, and manager Alan Pardew is open to the sale of the Frenchman in the summer.

According to Football Direct News, the Hoops manager Harry Redknapp is keen on adding Obertan to his ranks should the club earn promotion to the Premier League next term.

The 24-year-old has made 54 appearances for the Magpies since his switch from Manchester United in the summer of 2011.
