Liverpool eye move for Man Utd target

Liverpool are set to offer stiff competition to League rivals Manchester United in the race for the signature of Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan.

TalkSPORT claims that the Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is eager to add more strength in depth to his squad in the summer, and will make an offer of around £16m for his services.



Gaitan has also been linked with the Red Devils, who are prepared to have a major squad reshuffle for the next campaign, following a below-par Premier League season under new manager David Moyes.



However, Liverpool look frontrunners for the former Boca Juniors star as they are likely to offer the prospect of playing in the Champions League next term ahead of Manchester United.
