Arsenal to make surprise bid for Atletico star?

Arsenal will reportedly make an ambitious bid to land the signature of Atletico Madrid star striker Diego Costa during the summer transfer window.

According to the The Mirror, the Brazilian-born Spanish international currently has a buy-out clause of £31m in his contract, and it wouldn't be a stumbling block for the Gunners, considering the club are ready to spend over £80m on players this summer.

 

However, the North London club will face a bidding war from league rivals Chelsea, who are considered to be front-runners to land the player's signature at the end of the season.

 

Arsenal are assured of a top-four finish in the Premier League this season, following Everton's 3-2 defeat at the hands of league leaders Manchester City yesterday.
