Javier Mascherano open to Liverpool return

Barcelona star Javier Mascherano is apparently open to the prospect of making a switch back to Liverpool this summer.

The talented Argentine international has been linked with a summer move to the Serie A with Napoli, currently managed by former Reds boss Rafael Benitez.

 

The Naples outfit are understood to be preparing a bid in the region of £12m for the talented centre-back. 

 

However, the 29-year-old has now casted doubt over his future by insisted that he would prefer a switch to Brendan Rodger's Liverpool rather than to the Italian giants.

 

Liverpool would consider an offer for the talented star who was considered as a fans' favourite at the club, given their defensive frailties during the back end of the Premier League campaign.
