Mauricio Pochettino appointed Tottenham manager
Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Mauricio Pochettino as the new club manager. Pochettino arrives from Southampton and has signed a five year contract with the North London club.
Tottenham, who have struggled with numerous managerial changes over the past decade, have decided to poach Southampton's manager and the 42-year-old will begin work this week. The Argentine has quit the Saints after 18 hugely successful months as the club's manager.
"This is a club with tremendous history and prestige and I am honoured to have been given this opportunity to be its head coach," said the Argentinian.
Having helped progress the careers of Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw and Rickie Lambert, Tottenham were keen to bring Pochettino to White Hart Lane.
"He has a proven ability to develop each player as an individual, whilst building great team spirit and a winning mentality," said the club's chairman Daniel Levy.
