Jack Colback to join Newcastle from Sunderland?

Jack Colback could make a surprise transfer from Sunderland to their bitter rivals Newcastle United. According to reports, the midfielder, who is now a free agent, will earn a £50,000 pay cheque at St James' Park.

West Ham were amongst the teams speaking to the out of contract midfielder, but Newcastle are believed to have won the race.

Alan Pardew is busy rebuilding his squad for the upcoming season and is hoping to start business with a move for Colback as a long term replacement for Yohan Cabaye, who left Newcastle for a move to Paris St Germain last summer.
