Barcelona coy on potential move for Luis Suarez
Uruguayan international forward Luis Suarez remains a transfer target for Barcelona. Liverpool and the player had agreed a new contract only last season, but with talk of a 85 million Euro transfer offer imminent, the Reds could yet sell their star player.
There had been some suggestion that Barcelona's interest in the talented forward had cooled after Suarez bit Giorgio Chiellini during the Italy and Uruguay World Cup game.
Despite that, Barca sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has instead opened up with reporters about his thoughts on the Suarez saga and suggested that a deal could yet be pushed through. Suarez apologised to Italian defender Chiellini on Twitter today and it is rumoured that this apology was designed to impress Barcelona and push through a transfer to the Nou Camp.
Zubizarreta quipped: "Suarez has shown he is humble enough to admit an error, which is very important. Everyone knows that Luis is an excellent player, everyone knows last season he played in various positions in attack, but everyone also knows that he is a Liverpool player for the time being."
