Arsenal confirm David Ospina signing

Arsenal have successfully completed the signing of Nice goalkeeper David Ospina for an undisclosed fee, according to the club's official website.

The 25-year-old had been constantly linked with a switch to the Emirates over the past week, with manager Arsene Wenger keen on providing tough competition to Wojciech Szczesny for the number one spot.

The Colombia international has now penned a 'long term deal' at the North London club, thereby ending his six-year spell with Ligue 1 outfit Nice.

"David Ospina is an excellent goalkeeper, with good experience and a proven record of performing with Nice and Colombia. He will add strength to our squad and we are very pleased that he will be joining us," Wenger told Arsenal's official website.

Ospina played a huge part in Colombia's progress to the quarter-finals during the World Cup finals in Brazil.
