Tottenham make offer to Samuel Eto'o

Tottenham have been in contact with representatives of Cameroon international striker Samuel Eto'o. The player is currently a free agent having been released by Chelsea last season.

The striker is amongst a crop of players who are currently on manager Mauricio Pochettino's transfer shortlist. Eto'o, who at 33 is reportedly looking for one last season at the top level, is interested in a deal that keeps him in the Premier League.

Last season Tottenham's strikers struggled to find their best form, with Roberto Soldado struggling to adapt to life in England and Emmanuel Adebayor finding his best performances towards the end of the campaign.

Pochettino is looking to bring in Eto'o to add some experience to his front line options and also ensure that he will not need to bring in any further new signings before the transfer window slams shut on August 31st.
