Atletico Madrid interested in Soldado loan move
La Liga champions Atletico Madrid have once again set their sights on Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado.
According to reports in Spanish daily Marca, the Red and Whites are considering a loan deal for the 29-year-old, as a permanent deal looks less feasible after already having spent a fortune on the signings of Mario Mandzukic from Bayern Munich, Antoine Griezmann from Real Sociedad and Jan Oblak from Benfica’s reserve this summer.
The Spaniard joined the White Hart Lane club in a £26 million transfer from Valencia last year. But after an ineffective year in London, where he just managed six goals in 28 league appearances, the player is reportedly keen on coming back to his home country. After losing David Villa to Major League Soccer side New York City, and star striker Diego Costa, Diego Semione will be interested in adding strength to his attack at Vicente Calderon and Soldado, who rose through Real Madrid’s youth system, seems like an ideal fit.
