Shane Long wraps up Southampton £12.5m four-year deal
Southampton have confirmed that a deal to sign Shane Long has been agreed for a fee of £12.5m with the player agreeing a four-year deal. The promising striker has been brought in as a long term replacement for Rickie Lambert.
Ronald Koeman the Saints manager told the club's website after completing the deal for Long: "Shane is a very good player. As a striker, he's different to Graziano Pelle, which is something we needed. He brings ambition and a great mentality - he's always running and working, and he's very down to earth. He's a great person and we need that type of player."
The 27-year-old arrives from Hull City and it is his sixth season playing in the Premier League after spells with WBA and Reading as well as the Tigers.
