Man Utd in crunch talks to sign Argentine winger

Manchester United are considered to be in advanced talks to sign Real Madrid midfield sensation Angel Di Maria this summer, according to The Metro.

Having already signed the likes of Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw during the current transfer window, manager Louis van Gaal is understood to be keen strengthening his attacking options by making a record bid for the Argentina international. 

A report from the Metro claims that Di Maria has asked to leave Los Blancos, with his place in the first-team in uncertainty following the arrival of Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez to the Bernabeu earlier this summer. 

The report also suggests that the Red Devils could make a club-record offer in the region of £45m to seal a deal for the talented winger.
