Steven Gerrard opens Liverpool talks

Liverpool club captain Steven Gerrard has opened talks regarding a new contract. The 34 year old had indicated that he might quit Anfield in the summer.

With three American sides all hoping to sign the former England international, Gerrard had been considering a transfer elsewhere. However, Liverpool are now hoping to persuade Gerrard to stay and will open talks over a new contract today.
