Chelsea monitoring Napoli defender

Chelsea are monitoring the progress of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to a report.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho is keen on bolstering his defensive setup in the upcoming transfer window, with star defender John Terry coming to the end of his career.

According to Corriere del Mezzogiorno, the West London club will make a move for a top class defender in the New Year, and Koulibaly is among those in the target list.

Manchester United are also believed to be monitoring the proceedings.

Koulibaly has made 14 appearances for the club since his switch from Genk in the summer.
