Roma confident of signing Liverpool defender

AS Roma are understood to be confident of securing the services of Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson in the upcoming transfer window, according to a report.

The England international has recently got his spot back in the starting line-up, but is yet to sign a new deal at the club.

According to The Mail, Johnson could be offloaded in the New Year on a bargain fee given his existing contract at Liverpool expires next summer.

The report adds that the Capital outfit are edging closer to agreeing a deal with the Reds for the former Portsmouth man.
