Tottenham chase Connor Wickham

Tottenham are readying a bid for Sunderland striker Connor Wickham. Spurs are to table their initial bid for the talented striker whose contract will expire in June next year.

The Black Cats are desperate to tie Wickham down to a fresh deal at the Stadium of Light but have so far reached a deadlock in contract talks.Spurs are now ready to capitalise on the Black Cats' failure to secure Wickham to a new deal and triple the striker's salary at White Hart Lane.Tottenham are to part company with Emmanuel Adebayor in January, thus leaving a spot in their squad for a new forward.
