Man Utd manager van Gaal quiet on Bale rumours

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal refused to be drawn on reports that his club would make a bid for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale. Reports suggest that United will make a world record bid for the Welshman.

Bale has been an important member of Real Madrid's squad but could yet be sold after the arrival of James Rodriguez last summer. Man Utd are reportedly in pole position to secure the former Tottenham man's signature.

Louis van Gaal quipped: "I cannot discuss that with you. I discuss that with my CEO (Ed Woodward) and not with anyone of the media."
