Schalke 04 sign Matija Nastasic on loan

Schalke 04 have successfully completed the signing of Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic on a temporary basis.

The Serbian international had failed to cement his place in the first-team under manager Manuel Pellegrini, and this led to speculation linking him with a switch away from the Etihad.

A host of clubs were interested in signing the talented centre-back on a loan deal, but it has now been confirmed that the Gelsenkirchen outfit have acquired his services.

The 21-year-old made 51 appearances for City since his switch in 2012.
