Crystal Palace sign Shola Ameobi

Crystal Palace have acquired the services of former Newcastle United star Shola Ameobi on a free transfer.

The Nigerian international was a free-agent following his release from Turkish side Gaziantep.

Eagles boss Alan Pardew has been a huge admirer of Ameobi since his reign at the Magpies, and reports now claims that the club have signed up the veteran striker until the end of the season.

Palace have already signed up Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo on loan to boost their strike-force.
