Enner Valencia on Chelsea radar

Chelsea are ready to make a surprise swoop for West Ham United striker Enner Valencia before the transfer deadline on February 2.

The Ecuadorian striker joined the Hammers from Pachuca over the summer, and has since then played a crucial role in the club's excellent progress in the Premier League.

According to The Metro, the Blues boss Jose Mourinho is keen on signing up a new striker before the closure of the transfer window, with Germany international Andre Schurrle likely to exit Stamford Bridge.

The report adds that the Blues will make a bid of around £21m for the 25-year-old.

Valencia has scored three goals in 19 league games for the Hammers this season.
