Liverpool track Marco Sportiello

Liverpool are monitoring the progress of Atlanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello, according to The Star.

The Reds are believed to be keen on signing Chelsea's back-up keeper Petr Cech during the summer transfer window.

However, The Star reports that the Merseysiders could turn to Sportiello should Cech decide to remain at the West London giants next season.

The 22-year-old, who has been one of the stand-out performers for the struggling Serie A outfit, could be available for just £3m in the summer.
