Schalke in talks to sign Sami Khedira

Schalke 04 president Clemens Tonnies has revealed that the Bundesliga club are having negotiations with Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira over a possible summer move.

The German international's current deal at Los Blancos expires at the end of the season.

Recent reports revealed that the World Cup winner had rejected a switch to Schalke, paving way for a move to the Premier League with either Arsenal or Manchester United in the summer.

However, Tonnies has now insisted that the club are in talks with the 27-year-old over a return to the Bundesliga.

"Yes, we've had the first few discussions. When he is at full strength, I think Khedira can be a great help to us in the future," He said.
