Inter Milan youngster Mateo Kovacic has emerged as a surprise target for Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.

The talented midfielder has been in good form for the Nerazzurri this season, and his performances have attracted interest from top clubs in Europe.

According to Metro, the Gunners are among the top sides tracking his progress, and a summer bid could be in the offing.

The report adds that Inter would be willing to offer the youngster for a fee in excess of £17m this summer.

Kovacic has bagged five goals in 31 appearances for Inter this season.
