Arsenal plot Calhanoglu swap

Arsenal are keen on signing up Bayer Leverkusen midfield sensation Hakan Calhanoglu in a deal which would see Lukas Podolski move the other way.

The £20m-rated Rurkish midfielder was linked with a switch to the Emirates during his time at Hamburger SV.

According to Metro, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will look to renew the club's interest in the 21-year-old, whose play is often compared to Mesut Ozil.

The report adds that the Frenchman could offer Podolski as make-weight in a player-plus-cash deal for the Turkey international.

Calhanoglu has scored 10 goals in 36 appearances for Leverkusen in all competitions this season.
