Manchester City plot Modric swoop

Manchester City will try to lure Croatian international Luka Modric to the Etihad this summer, according to The Star.

Real Madrid are believed to be keen on signing Juventus' Paul Pogba in the summer, and this could force the former Spurs man below the pecking order.

According to The Star, Madrid would have to part with at least two players in order to comply with UEFA's Fair Play regulations.

The report adds that City are well aware of the situation and could make a summer offer of around £25m to acquire the playmaker's services.

Modric joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2012.
