West Ham in talks to sign Alex Song permanently

West Ham United have begun talks with Barcelona regarding a permanent contract for midfielder Alex Song.

The former Cameroon international joined the Hammers on a season-long loan from Barcelona last summer, and has since then been a key member of the first-team.

Song has lost his form since the turn of the year, but Goal.com claims that the Hammers hierarchy are now eager to open talks with the former Arsenal man and Barca towards the end of the campaign.

Song could be offloaded for around £5m in the summer.
