Premier League newcomers Bournemouth will look to acquire the services of Jermain Defoe, should Sunderland fail to beat the drop this season.

The 32-year-old was on target against Everton yesterday, as the Black Cats sealed a crucial 2-0 victory to move two point away from the drop zone.

However, The Mirror cites that the England international will consider his future away from Wearside, should the Black Cats fail to attain top-flight status next season.

It is added that the Cherries will look to seize the opportunity to sign up the former Spurs star, if the Black Cats are relegated at the end of the season.
