Robin van Persie set for Man Utd exit?

Lazio, Roma and Portuguese side Porto are all in the race to sign Manchester United forward Robin van Persie. The striker has been told he can leave Old Trafford for the right price.

It is understood that coach Louis van Gaal wants to utilise van Persie in a backup forward role, some way off of what van Persie himself expects. This past season United just scraped Champions League qualification and are set to be already under way in their summer rebuilding programme. Van Persie is wanted by Lazio, Roma and Porto; all of whom are ready to match a reported 12 million euro fee. The Dutchman is said to be interested in a move to another country before calling time on his career.
