West Bromwich Albion ready bid for Chelsea's Patrick Bamford

West Bromwich Albion are monitoring Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford, with a view to an offer for his services this summer.

The 21-year-old, who has yet to make a league appearance for the Blues, impressed during his loan spell at Middlesbrough last season.

Bamford has been offered a new five-year deal at the Premier League champions, but the lack of first-team football could force him to seek a fresh challenge away from the West London giants.

According to The Birmingham Mail, the Baggies are planning an £8m bid for the talented youngster.

Bamford scored 19 goals for Boro last season, and was named the Championship Player of the Year.
