Chelsea pursue Atletico defender

Chelsea will look to sign up Atletico Madrid defender Miranda as they look to bolster their defensive options for next season.

The Brazilian international could be offloaded this summer, with Atleti boss Diego Simeone keen on offering regular first-team football to young centre-back Jose Gimenez.

Reports cite that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen on signing a long-term replacement for veteran skipper John Terry, who could call quits to his Blues career at the end of next season.

Miranda is currently valued at around £20m by Atleti.
