Galatasaray abandon Robin van Persie pursuit

Galatasaray will not move for Manchester United striker Robin van Persie this summer, according to club manager Hamza Hamzaoglu.

The Netherlands international had been tipped to make a switch to Turkey, with Galatasaray keen on his signature.

However, Hamzaoglu has dismissed the club's chances of signing Van Persie as his financial package is way beyond their estimates.

Van Persie has a year left in his current deal at the Mancunian giants.
