West Brom to complete James McClean transfer

West Bromwich Albion are poised to announce the signing of Wigan Athletic midfielder James McClean in the next 24 hours.

The Republic of Ireland has already agreed personal terms with the Baggies, as the Latics look to cut down costs following their relegation to League One.

The Midlands outfit failed with an initial bid of £1.5m for the former Black Cats man.

However The Mirror claims that Baggies boss Tony Pulis in on the cusp of sealing the player's transfer, having seen the club make an improved offer for the talented midfielder.

McClean's contract at Wigan Athletic expires at the end of next season.
