Spurs to wrap up Alderweireld deal?

Tottenham Hotspur are close to agreeing a summer deal for Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld.

The Belgian international was in good form for Southampton on loan last season, and this has attracted interest from a whole host of clubs for his signature.

According to The Telegraph, the former Ajax star looks likely to make a switch to White Hart Lane this summer, as Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino plans to bolster his defensive options.

Chelsea are also said to have an interest in the talented defender, who can play at either centre-back or holding midfield.
