Sunderland bid for Jeremain Lens

Sunderland have made an £8m bid for Dynamo Kiev forward Jeremain Lens, The Mail reports.

The Black Cats boss Dick Advocaat has been given a £40m transfer kitty to rebuild his squad during the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old is known to have worked with Advocaat during their time at PSV Eindhoven, and The Mail cites that the Dutchman wants the talented forward to be at the centre of a revamped forward line.

Lens scored five goals in 16 games for the Ukrainian giants last season.
