Stoke reject Aston Villa bid for Asmir Begovic

Stoke City have rejected a transfer bid for goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from Aston Villa. Villa coach Tim Sherwood had hoped to snap up the Bosnian international this summer.

Begovic has been one of the Premier League's best performing goalkeepers in recent seasons and has attracted the interest of Chelsea and Manchester United in recent seasons.

Aston Villa have made a reported 8 million GBP bid for Begovic that has been rejected flat out by Mark Hughes' side.

It is understood that Stoke will not consider selling Begovic for anything less than 18 million GBP.
