Bayern Munich join race for William Carvalho

Bayern Munich will reportedly battle it out with Arsenal for the signature of William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon this summer.

The Portuguese international is a long-term target for the Gunners, and manager Arsene Wenger is expected to come up with a fresh bid during the current transfer window.

However, German sources claim that Bayern could have a say in the chase, with Pep Guardiola interested in the midfield enforcer.

Carvalho was named at the player of the tournament at the recently concluded European Under-21 championship.
