Sunderland keen on Marco van Ginkel loan

Sunderland are close to acquiring the services of Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel, Metro reports.

The Black Cats are on the look out for a new central midfielder this summer, with Dick Advocaat keen on strengthening the weak links.

Newcastle United have shown interest in the talented playmaker in recent weeks, but Metro cites that the Wearside outfit are confident of landing the player's signature on a temporary basis ahead of their arch rivals.

Van Ginkel spent last season on loan at AC Milan, and was largely disappointing throughout the campaign.
