Toby Alderweireld to undergo Tottenham Hotspur medical

Belgian international Toby Alderweireld is set to have a medical in London ahead of his proposed move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Atletico Madrid defender has been tipped to return to the Premier League this summer, following a successful loan spell at Southampton last season.

Widespread reports cite that the North London giants have agreed £11m fee with Atleti for the player's signature.

Alderweireld is expected to seal his move to White Hart Lane once he has a successful medical today.

Reports elsewhere state that the Saints had the option of signing Alderweireld for £6.8m unless Atleti squashed the deal by paying a £1.5m fee. It is added that Saints will take legal action against the Basque outfit should the sum not be settled.
