Toby Alderweireld joins Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have wrapped up a deal to sign Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld. Spurs have beaten Southampton to the centre back's signature.

Southampton and Spurs had been locked in talks regarding the transfer deal for Alderweireld and it is Tottenham who have won the race to sign the talented Belgian from Atletico Madrid.

Spurs have paid a reported 11 million GBP to sign the former Ajax defender and Alderweireld has penned a five year contract with the White Hart Lane outfit.

According to reports, Alderweireld will report for pre-season training with his new club tomorrow morning.
