Liverpool ready to seal BIG NAME SIGNING

Liverpool will look to bring in one of their main transfer targets of the summer, following the sale of Raheem Sterling to Manchester City.

The Reds have been long linked with a move for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, who is keen on a switch to a top Premier League club this summer.

Villa have stood firm on their £32m asking price for the Belgian international, and this had stalled talks over a potential summer deal.

However, it is now understood that the Reds will move in for the former Genk star, with Sterling set to make his move to the Citizens in the next 24 hours.

Benteke played an influential role for the Midlands outfit last season as they secured their top flight status.
