Arsenal knock back Palermo bid for Joel Campbell

Arsenal have rejected a £3.5m bid from Palermo for striker Joel Campbell, according to reports.

The Costa Rican international is expected to seek a new club this summer, having struggled to feature in the Gunners' first-team in spite of his World Cup exploits last year.

Reports in Italy cite that the Gunners have rebuffed an initial offer of £3.5m from the Italian side, as it was well their £7m asking price.

Campbell spent the second half of last season on loan with Spanish side Villareal.
