Bolton snatch late winner

Derby County's miseries continued tonight as Stelios Giannkopoulos bagged a last minute Bolton winner at the Reebok. Derby are now 10 points away from Premiership safety.

Gary Megson's side dominated after the break, but Derby defended resolutely all evening only for a late lapse in concentration which allowed the Greek substitute to nip in and secure maximum points for the home side which lifts them up to 14th in the table. The Rams stay rock-bottom and look doomed to relegation 10 points adrift of safety.

Bolton dominated the early possession but Derby broke away on four minutes with Craig Fagan getting the edge on Abdoulaye Meite for pace, but his shot from an angle just inside the area was pushed behind by keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

The Whites continued to force the issue as the half wore on with the best move on 33 minutes seeing Kevin Nolan volleying a Nicolas Anelka cross from the right over the bar from the edge of the area.

Derby then came into the contest and Fagan went close again on 38 minutes when his close-range header from a corner was tipped over by Jaaskelainen.
