Championship side Cardiff City have asked West Bromwich Albion to come up with a renewed offer for goalkeeper David Marshall.

The Baggies had made an initial offer of around £5m for the Scotland international, which was swiftly rebuffed by the Bluebirds.

Bluebirds boss Russell Slade has now revealed that the Baggies may have to come up with an appreciable offer to have any chance of signing up the talented shot-stopper.

"The numbers have to be right if we are to lose what is a quality goalkeeper," he told reporters.

"We'd all like him to stay and it would be a financial issue. If the money was right then obviously the club would have to consider."

Marshall had a great spell with the Welsh outfit during their previous stint in the Premier League.
