Newcastle United target Aymen Abdennour

Newcastle United are looking at the possibility of signing AS Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour, according to reports.

The Tunisian international was in top form for the Principality outfit last term, and this has attracted interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in recent months.

However, The Mirror cites that the Magpies are keen on shoring up their back-line, and are planning a late swoop for the efficient centre-back.

Abdennour has recently admitted his desire to play Champions League football with Barcelona.
