Tottenham Hotspur planning Asier Illarramendi move

Tottenham Hotspur are mulling over a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi.

The Spaniard has struggled to cement a place in the first-team at the Bernabeu since his move from Real Sociedad in 2013.

It has been recently reported that the 25-year-old could seek a move back to Sociedad following a dreadful run with the La Liga giants.

However, The Guardian cites that Mauricio Pochettino's side consider the midfielder as an alternative to Southampton's Victor Wanyama.

Real currently rate Illarramendi at around £15m.
